Description
So, I've always been into Catholic reliquary busts and African guardian figures that share the characteristic hole in the chest for sacred objects. This plays off that idea. I don't want to belabor the symbolism, you're smart, you can figure it out.
Cedar on an ebonized oak pedestal. 90 % hand tool carved, roughing was done with chainsaw, some detailing done with my antique foredom (its still labeled New York, that was a while ago). I actually like the lens distortion in the shot.
